This has been narrated in the sahih ahadith, such as that narrated from Umm al-Muminin Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray in his salah: Allahumma inni audhu bika min adhab al-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat il-masih il-dajjal, wa aidhu bika min fitnat il-mahya wa fitnat il-mamat.
